CHARLOTTE -- The PPL, short for "the people," showed off 25,000 square feet of workspace that will be occupied by more than 800 journalists, bloggers and photographers during the Democratic National Convention.

Housed at the Packard Place, the sole purpose of the PPL is to provide internet and independent media a place to work during the DNC.

"Whether it's a film, whether it's a podcast, whether it's a news story, whether it's a video, anyone out there creating content that needs a place to create that content or to work on that content, can come here and work on that," said Bruce Clark, the executive director of the PPL.

Media wanting to utilize the space must purchase a credential. The cost is $99 until Saturday when the price jumps to $125.
