Police are searching for two men who they say assaulted an elderly Queens man in an apparent hate crime.

Last Saturday morning police say the two men in this surveillance video approached 70-year-old Ali Akmal as he walked near his home in Corona.

Akmal says the men asked him whether he was Muslim or Hindu and then attacked him.

He was hospitalized with cuts and bruises to the face but is in stable condition.

The two suspects are said to be in their late teens or early twenties.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
