The so-called cannibal cop pleaded not guilty Monday in Manhattan federal court to charges he plotted to kidnap and cook a number of women.

Former police officer Gilberto Valle is charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and illegally accessing the National Crime Information Center database.

Investigators say he was trying gather addresses of potential victims.

Prosecutors say Valle emailed at least three people detailing his plans.

Valle's attorneys argue he was only sharing fantasies which he never acted upon.

No women were ever harmed.

Valle was suspended from his job as soon as he was arrested and could get life in prison if convicted.
