The mother of Zurana Horton spoke out Thursday about the day she lost her daughter in a shooting near a Brooklyn school.
Speaking on NY1’s "Inside City Hall," Denise Peace said she heard news of the shooting on TV and immediately had a feeling her daughter was there.
Peace, who lost two other children to gun violence, is now taking care of seven grandkids, some of whom think their mother is coming back.
"Right now I'm still numb from all of this, and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to take care of all these children and let them know that their mother is never coming back," said Peace.
Peace said she is grateful for the help she's received from community leaders but added that it will take time before she gets back on her feet.
