Two city policemen already charged with raping a woman they were called to help are now facing additional charges.

Prosecutors said Monday that Officer Kenneth Moreno, seen above, and Officer Franklin Mata returned to the victim's East Village apartment three times, rather than twice, after the initial call.

Moreno is accused of raping a drunk woman while Mata acted as a lookout after they escorted her home in December 2008.

The two policemen now face additional charges of burglary and official misconduct, among others.

They have pleaded not guilty.

Lawyers for the policemen said the new allegations should cast doubt on the prosecution's account of the events.

Jury selection is set to begin next week.
