Former President George W. Bush paid tribute to September 11th victims at the Pentagon today by laying a wreath by the site where American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the military complex and killed 184 people.

The former president and former First Lady Laura Bush laid their wreath of white flowers by the 9/11 Memorial Stone embedded in the wall outside Corridor 4.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mike Mullen were also on hand for the event.

Near the impact site is the Pentagon's 9/11 memorial, consisting of 184 benches, each inscribed with the name of a victim.

The damaged portion of the Pentagon was rebuilt within a year by crews working seven days a week, and it is dedicated the the 9/11 victims.

One corridor in that area is decorated by patriotic quilts made by children between the ages of eight and 18.

The Pentagon's official September 11th ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
