NY1 VIDEO: As part of its 9/11 tenth anniversary coverage, NY1 takes a look back at reporter Jill Scott's story from September 17, 2001 about how immediately following the terror attacks, it was a struggle for many Lower Manhattan businesses to reopen their doors.

NY1 FOLLOW-UP: For many businesses, the economic damage inflicted by 9/11 was too much to overcome. According to data compiled by the Downtown Alliance, Lower Manhattan suffered a loss of 754 business in the first two years after the attacks. However, the area has grown steadily in the years since and is now home to 130 more companies than were there on September 11, 2001.
