A South Korean popstar has taken the Internet by storm with his viral hit song. NY1's Michelle Park filed the following report.

Maybe it's the catchy tune, maybe it's the funny facial expressions, or maybe it's the easily imitated dance moves. But a Korean music video titled "Gangnam style" has been making its way around the Internet garnering over 125 million views.

Musical artist PSY is a long-time South Korean pop star but prior to the release of Gangnam style, he wasn't so well-known outside of his home country.

"I released my video on YouTube just for users in Korea, that was all. Every day, every views are increasing," PSY says.

His notoriety has reached across the entertainment world. Numerous musicians including rapper T-Pain have tweeted about the song, and singer Nelly Furtado recently performed her own version at a concert in the Phillippines.

PSY paid a visit to New York City to speak about his sudden popularity and explain the meaning of his song. He says he's poking fun at himself for trying to fit into a ritzy area of Seoul known as Gangnam.

"I'm Gangnam style, but people say, no you're not Gangnam style. I think I'm handsome, but people say no you;re not handsome. It's all the same thing," PSY says.

PSY's comical demeanor has audiences intrigued. He recently made an appearance at a Los Angeles Dodgers game, and when his song played over the loudspeaker, the multi-cultural audience knew what to do: They all got up to dance.

As for what's next, PSY is keeping it pretty hush-hush for now.

"Oh I'm getting that question a lot," PSY says.
