Fifty years after Marilyn Monroe's death, view photographs by Lawrence Schiller at the Steven Kasher Gallery on West 23rd in Chelsea. More than 50 images of the iconic blonde bombshell are on view through June 30.

Girls Hit The Street

Saturday night the Brooklyn Arts Council hosts Girls Hit The Street, a celebration of female street art including break dancer Ana "Rokafella" Garcia. The event takes place at The Actors Fund Arts Center at 160 Schermerhorn Street at 7 p.m. and it's free.

Growing Up Gonzales

Also Saturday, see a pop up performance of the off-Broadway play "Growing Up Gonzales" at the Inwood Library at 2 p.m. Its a bittersweet comedy about two brothers growing up in the Bronx. The performance is presented by NYPL and Souleo, and it's free.

Rooftop Films

For 16 years Rooftop Films has been showing independent movies in outdoor locations. This weekend check out offerings in in Gowanus, Brooklyn, and the Lower East Side. Tickets start at $12 dollars and the outdoor cinema celebration continues through August.

Falsettos Benefit

Now through June 14th catch a limited showcase run of the award-winning musical "Falsettos" at The Theater at 45 Bleecker Street. Falsettos tells the story of a suburban Jewish family; a man, his lover, his ex-wife, their son, and their therapist. Saturday there will also be a pre-show benefit dinner for the Long Island Crisis center which provides crisis intervention, especially for LGBT youth. General tickets are $18 and benefit tickets are $100.

If you can't make it to France for its major summer music fest, then head to Le Poisson Rouge Monday for the smaller American version. Les Déferlantes French Festival NYC features French songstress "Izia" and other other performers. Showtime is 8 p.m. and it's free.
