A special election for the seat of disgraced former State Senator Carl Kruger will be held on March 20, NY1 has learned.

Kruger resigned last month when he pleaded guilty to corruption charges for accepting half a million dollars in bribes from lobbyists and businesses.

He faces nine to 11.25 years behind bars when sentenced on April 26.

While no one has officially declared they will be running for the seat, City Councilman Lewis Fidler and David Storobin, a lawyer from Brighton Beach, have been batted around as possible candidates.

Republicans currently hold a slim majority in the State Senate.
