N.J. Office Cleaners Reach Four-Year Contract Agreement

A tentative four-year contract agreement for thousands of office cleaners in New Jersey has been reached.
According to the state director of Local 32BJ of the Service Employees International Union, the tentative contract will increase workers' hourly pay and the cleaners will continue receiving health care and other benefits.
Negotiations began in mid-October between the union and the New Jersey Contractors Association.
The current contract was to expire at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Under this contract, 32BJ SEIU represents workers in building located in Fort Lee, Englewood Cliffs, Ridgefield Park and Ridgefield.
