The city's largest municipal union and City Hall are clashing once again.

Members of District Council 37 took on the Bloomberg administration over technology consultant contracts at a public hearing Thursday.

They claim the contracts, which could come with a $290 million price tag over two years, are a waste of taxpayer dollars.

"They are not in the best interest of our taxpayers as we are about to give hundreds of millions of dollars to vendors with questionable backgrounds," said DC37’s Henry Garrido.

"These contracts seem to be on a time and expense model much like CityTime. In that case, it resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of waste," said City Comptroller John Liu.

A spokesperson for the city said the contracts will allow every agency to hire consultants for quality assurance.
