Brides-to-be charged Filene's Basement hoping to score a deal on their wedding dress.

The Upper West Side store opened its doors at 8 a.m. today for the annual Running of the Brides.

"This is madness,” said one bride-to-be. “I got choked, kicked, screamed; it’s madness."

The madness for Nikki Saucier and her bridesmaids began Thursday. They raced to the event 18 hours before the doors even opened, hoping to be first in line and have the best pick of the dresses.

"My wedding is in four months and I don't have a dress, so I figured why not try on 1,000 and get it for cheap,” said Nikki Saucier.

The dresses, which could fetch thousands at bridal salons, ranged in price from $200 to $700 and there were only about 2,000 on the racks.

"It’s craziness, but it’s fun, very interesting," said another bride-to-be.

"We love her and want perfect dream wedding to so we’ll do anything,” said a bridesmaid who joined in for the bargain hunt. “We'll run them over before they run us over."

Color coded and armed with signs, women, and even some dads, grabbed dresses without even checking size or style, hoping for the perfect fit.

"Never thought this was part of the gig,” said one father of the bride. “It’s interesting.”

"I owe him a lot,” said his daughter. “It’s a nightmare. It’s fun though and definitely a lot of laughs.”
