If you're looking for signs of spring in the city, look no farther than Manhattan's Park Avenue.
Thirty-eight roses, some as tall as 25 feet, have been planted along the avenue between 57th and 67th Streets.
"The Roses" is the brain child of artist Will Ryman who says he wanted the colors from the stainless steel and fiberglass resin buds to provide a contrast to the city's wintry gray backdrop.
"These flowers are fantastic -- I think it's just what New York needs," said one passerby.
"I can't believe. To have something like this in New York, just out in the open, it's just wonderful," said another.
"Oh yeah, it's sensational. All this snow. A really bad winter. And to have these beautiful spring-like flowers -- really bring a lot of happiness to Park Avenue," said a third.
The project also includes giant petals scattered around.
"The Roses" will be in bloom until May 31.
