Legislation before the City Council would force pregnancy centers to make it clear to women if they have an anti-abortion agenda.

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn says the bill would make sure pregnant women receive fair and accurate counseling about birth control and abortion at crisis pregnancy centers.

The centers would also have to provide signs and advertising that say whether they provide abortions, FDA-approved contraception and licensed medical professionals.

A new report from NARAL Pro-Choice New York accuses many city-based centers of giving misleading and even false information in an effort to push a pro-life agenda.
