At Fashion Week, Tracy Reese's and Monique Lhuillier's soft, dreamy looks for spring transformed the runway into a secret garden of glamour. NY1's Stephanie Simon filed the following report. Tracy Reese is feeling groovy for spring. The designer's bohemian designs include wide leg pants, peasant dresses and exotic prints inspired by her travels.?
"We've got a very clean and classic collection but with lots of flavor. It's mellow, it's groovy, it's breathy. There are a lot of wonderful choices," says Reese.
The cutout backs and peekaboo slips may look risque on the runway, but Reese says her clothing is designed to make any woman ready to strut her stuff.?
"We've got every body type you can imagine in my office and it's great," she says. "And I love seeing all the women on my team wearing our clothes."
"This is the perfect little black dress, really," says TV personality Natalie Morales. "And the best part, look -- I'm not flashing you my leg, don't worry. It's got a little petticoat, so if that doesn't say 'night,' I don't know what does."
Reese says she has something for everyone and plenty for day into night.
Meanwhile, over at Monique Lhuillier, the designer's looks spring from a dream.?
"I started with this whole dream that I had of this girl in a beautiful gown running through a beautiful garden," says Lhuillier. "I think for spring it should be about beauty, it should be soft, light, airy, with beautiful colors and sensual cuts."
Her runway was transformed into a personal Garden of Eden, with red-apple hues, cherry blossom prints and reptile-printed chiffon.
Lhuillier's entourage says these dreamy looks will make a real impact.?
"Oh I think ['Entourage' character] Mrs. Ari [Gold] would love Monique Lhuillier," says actor Sara Wynter. "Mrs. Ari wore Monique, actually, it was a date night."
"My grandmother was an actor in the '50s and '60s in Italy, and it kind of brought back the feel of that era," says Food Network chef Giadda de Laurentiis.
Just like the original serpent's apple, these looks are just too delicious to resist.
