Joel Grey Photo Exhibit
This weekend is your last chance to see new works by actor and photographer Joel Grey. The exhibit at Steven Kasher Gallery on West 23rd Street shows Grey's photos from, of all things, his cell phone. Interestingly, the gallery is also exhibiting autochromes from the National Geographic archives. They represent some of the oldest color photographs in world.
Weaving In and Out
An installation at the new Tapestry building at 124th Street at Second Avenue celebrates the interconnectedness of artists, ideas and the community. Starting Friday night at 6 p.m. it's a 24-hour draw-a-thon.
Jazz Concert at Central Park
Jazzmobile is hosting another free outdoor concert this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Great Lawn in Central Park. It's a festival style lineup with a slew of great performers including Ray Mantilla, Brianna Thomas, Dion Parson, and the legendary Jimmy Heath
Femi Cuti at Midsummer Night Swing
Let your weekend stretch into Monday night when Femi Cuti performs at Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center. The son of Fela Cuti will be playing his Afrobeat music backed by his band Positive Force performing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $17.
