Police continued their search Monday for the driver who ran down a City Hall employee and her friend in Brooklyn over the weekend, injuring both.
Investigators say 22-year-old Erinn Phelan, a City Hall employee and her friend, 23-year-old Alma Guerrero were crossing Flatbush Avenue near Prospect Place in Prospect Heights around 5 a.m. Sunday when they were hit by a green Acura.
The crash reportedly left Phelan, pictured above left, brain dead.
Guerrero's condition is described as stable at Kings County Hospital.
Police discovered the Acura a few blocks away from the scene. It is reportedly registered to Cindy Jasmin of the Bronx.
According to City Hall, Phelan works for the recently created New York City Civic Corps, an agency designed to promote volunteerism.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg visited both victims Sunday night, and spoke to Phelan's parents saying, "I told them that as a father I can't begin to imagine what they are going through, but all of our prayers are with their dedicated and idealistic young daughter who's helping New York City answer President Obama's historic call to service."
