Officials say the State Senate's Democratic majority will not attend Governor David Paterson's rare mid-year joint address to the Legislature about the budget crisis in Albany Monday.
Paterson is trying to create a coalition to address the state's fiscal crisis.
A senior Democratic official said the senators consider the speech as a photo-op for the governor.
Another official called it "useless."
The Senate's Republican minority and the Assembly's Democratic majority are planning to attend.
