A baby due on Mother's Day arrived a little early Thursday, making for a dramatic delivery in Harlem.
Firefighters and EMTs rushed to Fancy Powell's home just in time to deliver her baby girl.
"It happened so quick. As soon as my water broke, she was coming out. My cousin called 911 and they told her what to do. Before you know it, they came and the firemen took it from there," said Powell.
"Mom was doing a great job, she was pushing hard. Grandma was there too, holding hands and keeping everyone together. And it all worked out. We worked as a team," said FDNY Firefighter Edwin Dowling.
Mom and baby are said to be doing well at Metropolitan Hospital.
This was the first baby for Powell and the first delivery for some of the firefighters and EMTs.
