A member of the New York City Police Department who was shot and wounded in a gun fight in a Harlem subway station last week is getting a promotion.
Officer Kevin Herlihy will go from detective second grade to first on Friday.
The 21-year NYPD veteran was shot in the arm during a gun fight with a suspect inside the Eighth Avenue/145th Street subway station last Tuesday.
Herlihy also managed to shoot and kill the suspect, who was wanted for killing his ex-girlfriend's daughter.
