The man accused of shooting two police officers on a Queens subway platform earlier this week was arraigned from his hospital bed Thursday.
Raul Nunez was charged Thursday afternoon with attempted murder, robbery, and assault on a police officer in connection with Tuesday's shootout in Long Island City.
He is being held without bail.
Nunez was shot by police after he allegedly fired on Officer Shane Farina, 38, and Officer Jason Maass, 28.
Maass was released from the hospital Tuesday night, while Farina is still recovering at Elmhurst Hospital.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says the officer is still having trouble breathing after undergoing surgery to repair damage to his liver, small intestines and a rib.
Meanwhile, officials are trying to figure out how Nunez got back into the country after being deported 10 years ago.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents say they are investigating.
Prosecutors say Nunez admitted to shooting the officers because he was afraid of being deported again.
