Details are still limited following a series of raids early Monday morning in Queens which law enforcement officials say is part of an ongoing terror probe being conducted by the FBI.

The NYPD says one of the residences involved is located on 147th Street between Parsons and 41st Avenue in Flushing, Queens.

Two other raids took place inside a three family house on Parsons and 41st Avenue and an apartment inside the Linden Towers in College Point.

The FBI says several criminal search warrants were issued but no arrests have been made at this time.

The raids reportedly came after a man linked to al-Qaeda visited the city.

"It's part of an ongoing investigation, normal procedure," said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly during a press conference earlier Monday.

According to the AP, officials are said to be preparing to brief Congress about the investigation.

Senator Chuck Schumer says the raids appear to be part of a preventative procedure and that there is no indication of an imminent threat.

"The FBI is very good at monitoring and watching would-be actions and terrorists who might cause problems down the road. And I would characterize this raid as preventative," Schumer said.

Meanwhile, residents in the area say the developments have left them on edge.

"I've lived here my whole life and I never saw anything like this before," said Flushing resident Melissa Kahn.

"You think you know what's going on in your neighborhood but you have no idea," said Flushing resident Jonathan Rosario.
