Marquees are not the only signs in lights in New York City. New lighted street signs in Midtown are making it easier for drivers to get around in the dark.
The new signs glow in the dark and are larger than the standard street markers now installed around the city, making them visible from up to a full bloack away.
Three of the lighted signs have already been installed, and 200 more will be up and glowing by Thanksgiving. The glowing signs will mark intersections in Midtown from 31st to 36th streets, between Park and 10th avenues.
The project, which was started by the 34th Street Partnership, a business improvement district, will cost $$250,000.
