Looking for something different this Valentine's Day? Consider an experiential travel getaway, where couples share something more than just the material. NY1's Valarie D'Elia filed the following report.

To keep the heat on the romance, you and your sweetheart can hone your kitchen skills at any of the weekend cooking classes at the Culinary Institute of America in New York's mid Hudson Valley.

Located 100 miles north of Manhattan, the Saturday classes in Hyde Park include lunch, lecture and hands-on cooking, grilling or baking. It's $250 per person and they resume on March 13th. Longer bootcamps are ongoing and start at $850.

It's one thing to learn how to put food on the table, but how about learning to build the table itself? Join a furniture building workshop in Bridgewater, Vermont where you and your partner can make a table in the Shackleton Thomas workshops.

Think of this one as an investment, as the cost is $3,500 for a rectangular table and includes delivery within 300 miles. Hotel for two nights and some meals are included.

Valentine's Day is all about heartfelt gestures, but what about caring for the heart itself? Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts hosts "Nourishing Your Heart," seminars in February led by doctors and exercise physiologists.

To carve out a place in your lovers heart, The Rink at Rockefeller Center and Rock Center Cafe offer their annual Skate-A-Date package. It includes two VIP entries to the rink so you can skip the lines and enjoy dinner for two with a view.

The Skate-A-Date package is $80 without tax, tip and skate rentals and is good now through early April.
