Eight firefighters were hurt Tuesday after battling a three-alarm fire in Brooklyn.

Fire officials said it happened in a three-story brick building at 222 Kings Highway in Bensonhurst around 11 a.m.

After 160 firefighters responded, a wall in the rear of the building collapsed, trapping the firefighter.

"Late in the overhaul stages we had a collapse of the rear wall. One of our firefighters went out the third-floor window and rode the collapse all the way to the basement. He's presently at Kings County Hospital in stable condition," said FDNY Deputy Chief James Leonard.

The hospitalized fireman received a shoulder injury.

Eight civilians also suffered minor injuries.

A cause of the fire was not determined Tuesday.
