A wake was held Tuesday for the man who fell to his death after being tased by a police officer.

Family and friends gathered at Greenwich Village Funeral Home to say their goodbyes to Iman Morales.

Last Wednesday, Morales was tased by an Emergency Services Unit officer after he had crawled naked onto a second-story awning in Bedford-Stuyvesant and was waving an eight-foot florescent light bulb at officers. Upon being tased, Morales fell 10 feet to his death.

Members of Rights for Imprisoned People with Psychiatric Disabilities, who attended the wake, said police officers are not properly trained to help people with mental illnesses.

"We are outraged once again that someone with mental illness was unjustly murdered, and this is a pattern, and we believe our people are always marginalized and targeted," said RIPPD member Lisa Ortega.

"It's appalling how, you know, that man was murdered like that because police do not have the kind of training to assist people having episodes, mental episodes," said Marcella Hindes, a fellow RIPPD member.

The NYPD says the officers involved violated department guidelines and members of ESU have undergone retraining.

The funeral for Morales will be held on Thursday.
