Three elementary school students in the Bronx were arrested Wednesday for bringing weapons to school.

Police say the students -- ages 8, 9 and 11 -- were taken into custody at PS 2 in Morrisania.

They are being charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and criminal possession of a weapon.

Investigators say a school safety agent caught the 9-year-old with a box cutter and a knife was also recovered.

Parents say their thoughts immediately turned to Vada Vasquez, the Bronx student shot in the head last week.

"The girl that was in the coma, that got shot in the head, that happened only a few blocks from her so, if they see that and they see in the cit nobody cares, of course they're going to lash out any way they can," said one concerned parent.

"I don't know if it's the in home training or whether they see it in the street. I don't know where this is coming from. I don't know where do you get the conscious, the nerve, to do the things these children are doing," said another concerned parent.

The Department of Education won't say whether the three boys will be expelled.

Police say the boys are being held at Spofford Juvenile Detention Center in the Bronx and will appear in family court on Monday.
