The nation's most famous Christmas tree is a bit greener this year.
The Swarovski Crystal star that sits on top of the tree at Rockefeller Center has been revamped with a new-energy efficient lighting system, featuring 720 LED lights.
All together, the tiny white lights only use about as much power as a single 100-watt lightbulb.
Officials say this year, the star will shine brighter than ever.
"I think it's the appropriate location and occasion to add so much sparkle this holiday season and for Swarovski. It's just amazing to be part of it," said Swarovski Vice President Nadja Swarovski.
It took nine craftsman three months to assemble the star.
The 77th Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Wednesday December 2nd.
