Connecticut is a small state that is big on diversity when it comes to vacation options. NY1's Valerie D'Elia filed the following report.

Connecticut has the best of both worlds, a salty shoreline and leafy luxury. Waters Edge Resort and Spa along Long Island Sound in Westbrook is offering a two night getaway for two starting at $659 midweek. This provides a breakfast buffet each day plus a three course dinner for two on the second night of your stay. You will also get a credit on two roundtrip Amtrak coach tickets along with transfers from the Old Saybrook Train station.

Northeast of Westbrook is Ivoryton, the setting for the historic Copper Beech Inn. The owners have added-on two contemporary houses in a lovely expansion. Not only does the main house preserve the antique feel of a typical New England Inn, there are options for a more updated stay with designer touches and deep whirlpool tubs. The Copper Beech Inn is known for its AAA four diamond dining led by executive chef Tyler Anderson. There is both a formal dining room and a more casual Brasserie that attract a local clientele besides overnight guests. Summer packages all include breakfast daily and a free dinner for two as well as an in-room split of champagne. Rates start at $225 per person midweek for the two-night stay. Packages include tickets to local attractions such as the Ivoryton playhouse and the Essex Steam Train.

Now here's a D'Elia's Deal you don't want to miss at Copper Beech Inn this summer. Receive a $25 gift card upon check-out towards a fall stay when you tell them that Val sent you.
