Completion of the long-awaited Second Avenue subway line has reportedly been pushed back again.

According to the Daily News, the first segment may not be finished until 2016 – four years later than originally scheduled.

The News says the MTA is working with the the federal government to come up with a plan to make up for lost time and budget gaps. But the Federal Transit Administration is reportedly fed up with the delays.

An MTA spokesman tells the paper a report will be released next month outlining the new schedule.

Ground was broken for the first phase of the project in April, 2007.
